Storm the Front Online Tournament: CALL OF DUTY 4

   RULES & REGULATIONS

CHAPTER 1 – GENERAL INFORMATION

1.1 CALL OF DUTY 4 & PROMOD

The Storm the Front Online Tournament uses the videogame CALL OF DUTY 4 Considering professional experience, the tournament is authorized to Gamesports to host this tournament on behalf of CM Storm.

The goal of this tournament is to provide gamers with fair andrncompetitive matches. In order to accomplish this goal, there is no tolerance for players or teams that cause problems or attempt to undermine the positive atmosphere. Let this includes teams that cheat, dispute on purpose, or repeatedly abuse players. Violators may be punished with an immediate removal from this event. As with all accusations, valid proof must be provided.

1.2 REGULATION

By participating in the tournament all teams and players acknowledge without limitation to comply with the rules and regulations and with the decision of tournament officials. CM Storm reserves itself the right to modify the rules and regulations from time to time without notice. The teams and players are encouraged to review these rules and regulations from time to time in order to be apprised of any changes.

1.2.1 REFEREES

The Storm theFront  referee staff consists of experienced referees with deep ingame knowledge and tournament experience. They will give their best to always find the best and fairest solution for all participants and can be contacted via E-Mail , IRC (#CMStorm.COD4 on irc.quakenet.org:6667) or via the official forum

1.3 PRICE MONEY DISTRIBUTION

The winner of the Storm the Front Online Tournament  will get the announced price money. All inner-european transfers will be handled by bank transfer. Transfers to players & teams living outside of Europe will be handled by PayPal.

1.3.1 HARDWARE PRIZES
Hardware prizes will be shipped to a responsible person for the regarding team (e.g. the teammanagers or teamleaders) who has to take care to deliver the prizes to their teams' members.

1.4 PARTICIPATION
1.4.1 PARTICIPANTS

Teams and players from any region are welcome to enter the Storm the Front Online Tournament.

1.4.2 TEAMS

A team has to consist of at least five (5) players and a maximum of seven(7) players. Teams with less than five (5) players are not eligible to participate. It is the teams’ responsibility to verify the eligibility of their players prior to signing up to the Storm the Front Online Tournament. A team playing with one or more ineligible player(s) will not be allowed to participate in the tournament.

1.4.3 PLAYERS

Every player has to enter a correct GUID and PB ID in his/her profile before entering a tournament.

1.4.4 NAMECHOICE

Teams or players names may not contain inappropriate or discriminating language.

1.5 TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE

  • The official tournament schedule will be published in the match schedule.
  • The tournament will be divided into several matchdays, the dates of the matchdays will be published in the tournament section.
  • Teams have to schedule their matches in the comments on the matchdetails page until twenty-four (24) hours before the matchday starts. If a team does not answer until twenty-four (24) hours before the matchday starts a tournament official has to be consulted immediately.

CHAPTER 2 – GAMESETTINGS

2.1 MATCH FORMAT

The Storm the Front Online Tournament will be played in the S&D (Search & Destroy) 5vs5 MR12 mode. This means that two (2) half times à twelve (12) rounds are played and the first team to reach 13 rounds wins the respective match. If by the end of all twenty-four (24) rounds both teams won twelve (12)rounds there will be an overtime using S&D (Search & Destroy) 5on5 MR3 mode

The tournament will be played using a double elimination bracket with every match being played as best-out-of-three in maps, this means that the first team to win 2 maps wins the match.

2.2 GAME VERSION

The Storm the Front Online Tournament uses the videogame CALL OF DUTY 4 and the COD4 Promod ( www.cod4promod.com ) in its latest version in 5vs5 S&D (Search & Destroy) mode.


2.3 CLIENTSETTINGS

  • All players have to play with Punkbuster enabled.
2.3.1 RESTRICTIONS

  • The use of bugs is strictly forbidden in any ways (f.e. leaving of the normal boundaries of a map).
  • Players are not allowed to use “clipping” bugs in the game so they can see over (or through) certain walls or walk on invisible ledges. Admins will make the final call on whether or not clipping indeed took place or not.
  • All players must use default models, default skins, default sprites, and no offensive sprays or sprays that mimic game elements (textures, models, etc.).
  • Boosting players in any way as well as the so called “nade jumping” or shooting a player while jumping to gain height is strictly prohibited and will be punished.
  • Manipulation of server configurations, client configurations, models, skins, weapons, sounds, or anything that alters the predetermined settings is illegal.
  • Repeated proning and unproning to shoot and not be injured (also known as “Vertical Glitch”) is illegal.
  • The use of third-party-programs that alter the original gameplay in any way is strictly forbidden and will be punished severely. The Admins always have the final word in deciding what is illegal or not.

2.4 SERVERSETTINGS

  • All game servers must have Punkbuster enabled and the following Punkbuster config files have to be executed: punkbuster.zip
  • All game servers must be streamed to Game-Violations Anti Cheat site ( http://game-violations.ggl.com ).
  • All game servers must have the latest version of COD4 Promod installed.
  • For all matches Promod has to be started with the following command: /rcon promod_mode knockout_mr12
  • In case of a draw at the end of a match the teams will play overtimes in MR3 mode until a winner is declared. If an overtime needs to be played teams will join the side they started on at the beginning of the map.
2.5 MAPS

The Tournament is played on the following maps:

  • mp_crossfire
  • mp_crash
  • mp_strike
  • mp_backlot
  • mp_citystreets
2.5.1 MAPCHOICE

  • The higher seeded team eliminates one map.
  • The lower seeded team eliminates one map.
  • The higher seeded team chooses which of the remaining maps to play first, the other team chooses the side they want to start on this map.
  • The lower seeded team chooses the second map, the other team chooses the side they want to start on this map
  • The remaining map will be the third and deciding map if needed, the team with the lower overall score after rounds in both maps chooses which side to start on.
  • In the overall finals the team coming from the lower bracket is seen as the higher seed

CHAPTER 3 – MATCHPROCEDURE

3.1 BEFORE THE MATCH

  • Teams have to be complete with five (5) players until fifteen (15) minutes after the scheduled match time, teams not having five (5) players at that time will forfeit the match automatically.
  • Players have to use their nicknames as listed on the tournaments homepage ingame, using different nicknames will be punished.
  • Before a match start a screenshot of the CoD4 Punkbuster GUIDs of all players must be taken from the console, the commands to be used are /pb_plist and /screenshotjpeg
  • In the case a player has to leave/rejoin during a match due to disconnects or other reasons another GUID screenshot has to be taken after rejoin.
3.1.2 SERVERSEARCH

The teams are responsible of finding a server on their own, the Storm the Front Tournament staff will not provide any servers for the participants. Any reclamation regarding the server must be claimed towards an admin before the match, as soon as teams agree on a server and a match officially starts teams lose every right to complain about servers after the match. If no fair server can be found an admin has to be consulted who will force a server of which he/she thinks is the fairest to play on.

3.1.3 SPECTATORS


Spectators are not allowed during the matches unless the spectator is an Admin or Shoutcaster/Coverage partner of the Storm the Front Online Tournament

3.2 DURING THE MATCH

  • Leaving the server during a running match without a given reason is strictly forbidden and will result in a forfeit for the players team
  • Players are required to record demos of all matches and to save them until at least 48 hours after the tournament is over. If an Admin requests any match media the players are to upload it immediately.
  • Player substitutions are only allowed at half times unless a player is joining to replace a lagged out player.
  • Every team is allowed to call one (1) timeout per map in case a player gets disconnected or has problems continuing the match. The length of a timeout should not be more than three (3) minutes, in the case a team needs a longer timeout an admin has to be informed and/or consulted.
3.3 AFTER THE MATCH

3.3.1 MATCHSCORES


The loser of a match has to report the mapscore of the match (either 2-0 or 2-1). The score has to be reported until thirty (30) minutes after the match, otherwise an admin has to be consulted.

3.3.2 DEMOS

Every team has to upload at least one (1) demo of the match directly after the matches are finished on the matchpage. If there are any problems with uploading the demos a Referee has to be contacted as fast as possible.


3.3.3 PROTESTS

If a team has a reason to state a protest it has to finish the match first before stating the protest. Every accusation in the protest has to be proven with respective material (demos, screenshots or timetables). If there is no proof the protest will be rejected by the Storm the Front Online Tournament admin staff.

CHAPTER 4 – RULES AND VIOLATIONS

Every violation of these rules & regulations may be punished with sanctions going from warnings over forfeit losses to a total disqualification of teams & players from running and upcoming Storm theFront Online Tournaments. Hereby it is of the sole discretion of the responsible referee to decide which sanction will be used. In every case the tournament supervisor has the last word in any decision and may revoke every decision made bis his/her referees.
