Game Fanatics | Apr 18, 2011 | English | 'Fanning' the Video Game Revolution - A Look at the CM Storm SF-19 (Review) |
Design
This cooler is an absolute beast, capable of handling the toughest of systems, up to 19″ in width. It’s constructed with ABS Plastic and lined with reinforced anti-slip rubber. It has a removable dual fan cooling system and 4 USB 3.0 ports as well as room for USB power (for the fans) and AC power (for the lights). Lights, you say? Yes! The SF-19 is not only functional, but stylish as well…sure to make you the talk of your LAN party. The SF-19 comes complete with a multi-light shader that can shine up to 7 different colored lights, complete with the cool breathing effect that’s available on CM Storm’s mouse counterpart, allowing you to personalize your fan to match the colors and ambiance of your own rig.
The SF-19 is designed with portable gamers in mind, with a carrying handle built in that allows for mobility and “quick LAN-party relocation.” I often moved the fan along with my laptop between rooms, up and down the stairs, and all around with no hassles. The SF-19 also has a nice feature which gives it brownie points in my book. Around the case there are rubber slots that you can fit your wires and cables into, which help keeps everything neat and organized.
Functionality
Make no mistake about it, the CM Storm SF-19 is a beauty on the outside, but I believe that true beauty lays within. The SF-19 has two incredible powerful turbines (capable of speeds of up to 2,600 RPM) housed within a trapdoor-contained compartment. The fans are removable, replaceable, and completely customizable, making for a product that lasts a lifetime.
The rubber placed around the edges of the fan are strong enough to keep even the heaviest of laptops from sliding on its slanted surface, making for a pretty ergonomic experience; I found that the SF-19 placed my laptop at an angle that reduce the stress on my fingers and wrists, which is something to note if you plan to be typing away for hours.
The fans are surprisingly quiet, and even at max speed they are not much louder than the fans in my HP laptop when they’re working hard. I loved the wide spectrum of fan speeds the SF-19 had to choose from, which is changed via the dial on the left side of the cooler.
Though I didn’t go in depth with temperature testing, check out Overclockers Club, who did go pretty in depth. View their results here.
Pros:
· Size
· Silent fans
· Durability
· Multi-light shader, which can be turned off

Tech Kings | Apr 08, 2011 | English | CM Storm SF-19 Strike Force USB 3.0 Gaming Notebook Cooler Review |
I was amazed, despite its size how sleek and not over large it looked with my 17-inch laptop sitting on it. The lights look great, the two fans produce great airflow at a tolerable noise level, and the four USB ports and a USB 3.0 port future-proof the SF-19, and allow for any of your gaming peripherals to be quickly connected to the cooler, allowing you to move your notebook without it being tethered to your peripherals.
The similarity to Alienware design is probably no accident, as Alienware owns a large portion of the gaming notebook/desktop replacement market, and should match them beautifully. The sharp, edgy curves remind me of the SR-71, and I think it looks great. The colors, and ability to change the colors and how they display is awesome, and would be awesome at any LAN event. The LEDs are diffused nicely, so they aren't overly bright or painful to look at.
To top it all off, it does it's primary job, cooling, very well. For the first time, I've been able to run an hour session of Prime 95 without the laptop overheating and shutting itself down, and with as hot as it runs, this is no small feat. It did it with 15 degrees to spare as well, so it didn't just barely keep the notebook going, it kept it well under the "critical" range.
Pros:
A fantastic cooler, and anyone with a power-hungry, heat-spewing notebook could see huge gains from using the SF-19!

| The product we are going to look at today is a perfect example of what can happen when good ideas come together with great styling, and enough options to customize the looks and performance of this new laptop cooler. Cooler Master goes way beyond just keeping the laptop off of your lap and offering a bit of circulation to the underside. With this, the idea was to maximize airflow to cool even the hottest of components while giving you a very attractive product. | ||||

| The Storm Strike Force 19 is a great option for widescreen users left out in the cold. The Cooler Master Storm series is a great line to tackle this project, since mobile gaming hardware often lacks effecient cooling otherwise. The USB 3.0 is a great option, especially looking towards the future, and with a more affordable 2.0 model, CM has covered all the bases. | ||||

Let me tell you that there is nothing about the CM SF-19 cooler that reminds you of anything but going first class all the way. The CM SF-19 did a great job of cooling our test laptop and did so with a lot of flare. From the four USB 3.0 connections to the cable routing and the LED lighting options we found nothing to complain about. While all the extras are nice the main claim to fame for the CM SF-19 is its cooling ability. We were pleased to report that CM SF-19 did a great job of keeping the temps under control while stressing the system. The 7.5 degree of angle made for perfect ergonomic positioning of our keyboard and was truly comfortable while working with the laptop while it was on-board. |

| The Storm SF-19 has one very distinct feature that sets it apart; an integrated USB 3.0 hub for the Strike Force version. One other extra that the SF-19 has are the LEDs on the bottom. It might be appreciated by those who like to show off their gaming rigs at LAN parties. There are seven different colors available so it can match the color of most laptops without difficulty. The only color that could have been added is orange. | ||||

overclockersclub | Oct 25, 2010 | English | CM Storm SF-19 Strike Force Review |
| The CM Storm SF-19 Strike Force is one of the best laptop coolers that I have reviewed. While it isn't the most mobile, it still makes an effort to be able to be totted around to LAN parties or wherever by way of a handle in the rubber edging. Also, the impressively large cooling surface and the replaceable fans really allow you to get the best cooling for your laptop while still letting you customize the fans to make the SF-19 your own. One thing I always look for when reviewing a laptop cooler is a USB hub. This is a great feature to have and the SF-19 is one of the few coolers I have reviewed that includes one. Not to mention that it's the first cooler that I have reviewed with a USB 3.0 hub. This will allow you to keep using the hub for the foreseeable future. Finally, by using the SF-19 you'll earn the thanks of your hands since the tilt that it puts your laptop at helps ergonomically. Overall, the SF-19 Strike Force is one of the best laptop coolers that I have reviewed and I would recommend it to anyone who wants the best performance for their system. | ||||
