I was not a claw grip FPS player until the Spawn mouse, now I can't see going back. The large glide pads on the bottom make the Spawn slide easily over most surfaces. This mouse has the perfect feel for FPS's. It's lightweight, slides smoothly, on-the-fly DPI adjustment and has the appropriate number of buttons. Everyone has different "feelings" on mice. What works for me, you may hate. The Spawn mouse seems just right for me. It's got a great color, but isn't gimicky or too flashy. At the suggested price of $49, it's a great buy as well. ClubOC recommended!

HardwareCanucks | Apr 06, 2011 | English | Cooler Master Spawn Gaming Mouse Review |
Pleasing every gamer with a peripheral is next to impossible and thankfully, Cooler Master never intended the Spawn to be marketed as a kind of gaming Swiss Army knife. Rather, it is a claw-grip mouse that doesn’t try to be anything else. This lack of compromise is why we like the Cooler Master Spawn so much. It is purpose built and for its intended audience, there really is no better choice as this price point. As long as you are aware of its limitations and fully understand your preferred grip style, this could very well be the perfect mouse.
For this uncompromising approach to ergonomics we award it our Dam Innovative award. Since it is not only innovative but also carries a killer price of about $50 we also feel comfortable in also awarding the Spawn our Dam Good Value award.

Hardware Secrets | Mar 21, 2011 | English | CM Storm Spawn Mouse Review |
We got really excited when receiving the Spawn because we always grab and play with the mice in a claw grip style. In this regard, the model has a perfect design, indeed flawless, a dream come true for a “claw gripper”. The mouse has rubber coating in the right places and it never escaped our fingers. That's a high mark that guaranteed the precision we required for marksmanship when playing Call of Duty Black Ops and Battlefield Bad Company 2.

| The Spawn has some great features to it for the gaming market it is geared towards. The programmable buttons are a nice feature to have on mice these days, with games being as in depth as they are. For as small lengthwise as the Spawn is, it has a ‘big’ feel to it. We would have to say this is partly due to how wide it actually is. The Omron micro switches, which are rated at 5 million clicks, show how much thought and effort Cooler Master has put into this gaming mouse. The on-board Sentinel-X storing your most recent saved mouse settings is another solid feature of the Spawn that really rounds out this package. | ||||

The bold styling on the Spawn will certainly make us stand out in the crowd and its solid design and tough rubberised grip make it an ideal mouse to use out in the world away from the safety of our desk at home. With a minimum guarantee of 5 million clicks the Spawn is certainly going to provide even the most avid gamer with a long life-span. |

Overall the CM Spawn is a great "claw" style mouse with excellent precision, response, and features. Given the nature of the mouse it may not be for everyone but if this a style you've worked with before then this would be a great choice. Or if you're looking for another mouse for another PC this is definitely one to consider if you're heavy into shooters and precision.
