On some PCs USB devices are given only a very short time to initialize.
This is done to speed up the system boot process, but can cause problems with advanced USB devices.
Since Trigger features a very powerful integrated processor, detailed firmware and a lot of memory, it requires more time than other Keyboards to initialize. On some PCs this can cause the boot process to slow down for a second, or result in Trigger not being recognized.
In this case please use another keyboard to enter the BIOS and disable "QuickBoot" or "FastBoot".
If you have any questions or suggestions please dont hesitate to submit a support ticket and contact us.
By default Trigger has 3 levels, but if you want it to be even brighter or want to use power hungry USB devices on Triggers built in USB hub, you can connect a standard 5VDC PSU.
As soon as the PSU has been connected, you will be able to boost the LED brightness setting by 2 additional Levels!

Other Keyboard require that their App/Driver is running in the background to record OTF macros.
On Trigger you can record macros without the App...
To make sure you dont accidentally delete or lose any OTF macros, the Trigger App scans for new OTF macros every time you disconnect and reconnect Trigger to the System, close and launch the Trigger App, or reboot the PC.
To avoid this, simply disable the auto-start option for the Trigger App and close it.
It wont scan for new OTF Macros everytime you disconnect and reconnect the keyboard or reboot the PC.

Trigger doesnt require an external PSU to work, but since it uses your computers USB power, there are certain limitations. If you connect high power USB devices such as external HDDs, some highend USB sticks and smartphones or tablets to Triggers built in USB hub, it can result in a too high power draw from your Mainboard. As a result many Mainboards limit or disable USB power, which can cause Trigger and the devices connected to its USB hub to freeze or power off.
You can try to use different USB ports on your Mainboard to see if some of them can provide more power.
USB3 ports for example can provide almost 3x as much power as USB2.0 ports.
Or you can disable Triggers LED backlight which greatly reduces its power consumption, and leaves more USB power for devices connected to Triggers USB hub.
If possible, use an external standard 5VDC psu and connect it to Trigger, this allows you to use all 5 LED backlight brightness settings and enables you to use high power USB devices connected to Trigger at the same time.

Whenever you get confused about customized keyboard profiles where keys have different functions or letters or Macros assigned to them, simply press and hold the Storm key, and then press the ~ key on the top left of the keyboard.
This loads the default Keyboard Profile, and you can now enter the Trigger App and look at your customized keyboard profiles and see what you assigned to which button, and edit or remove functions that confused you.
Note: the left Storm key can be disabled or programmed to act as a windows key, in this case you will have to use the right Storm key which is fixed to always act as Storm special function key.

Macros can be played back in two ways, via the Trigger App, or via Triggers integrated Microprocessor.
Right click on the Trigger App Tray Icon to switch between these two modes.
Executing Macros via the Trigger App allows you to still interact with the game while Macros are being executed. Be aware though that mixing keyboard input and executing Macros at the same time can have weird and unpredicted results. For example: If your Macro contains ALT, and you press TAB while the macro is being executed, you might unintentionally trigger ALT+TAB and switch applications.
Unfortunately some applications block or dont support keyboard input originating or being manipulated by software.
Executing Macros via the integrated Microprocessor in your Trigger Keyboard allows you to execute Macros in any Application. Macros might still be blocked partially or entirely if the delay between actions is too low for human input, or is identical between all actions. In this case adjust the delay between actions to make Macros work. The downside of this Macro execution mode is that you lose keyboard input as long as the Macro is being executed. In most cases this isnt an issue, as Macros tend to be very short. If you execute a Macro and then have to interact with the game again and change your strategy, you can hit the Escape key to abort the currently running Macro and regain keyboard input instantly.
With great power comes great responsibility.
Please use Macros responsibly and dont use them to cheat!

Macros are recordings of keyboard and Mouse input, which you can assign to keyboard keys to automate processes and avoid using highly repetitive input sequences.
Trigger allows you to record Macros on the fly by pressing a key combination, and then assigning it to a Macro key and use it right away. This means you dont need to have any application or the Trigger App running, and can record and immediately use input sequences within the game or application, without ever leaving it. This saves time and is a lot more convenient. Another advantage is that its a lot easier to record input sequences when you are in your usual environment you are familiar with. You dont have to think about what keys to hit, but just use the keyboard naturally. You can then later open the OTF Macros in Macro Studio and edit or revise them.
- Close or minimize the Trigger App
- If it helps you to record the Macro, launch the game or Application you want to record a Macro for
- Press and hold the Storm button + Alt-Macro button at the same time for 2 seconds to start recording a macro.
- The Scroll Lock LED on your Trigger starts flashing slowly
- Trigger now switches to the default Keyboard profile to avoid confusion of key remappings and customizations you might have made to keyboard profiles.
- You can now continue playing the game, or press any key combinations you want to record. be aware that any key you press is still sent to the PC/Application/Game! The Scroll Lock LED starts flashing quickly now.
- As soon as the macro reaches 50 actions of 30s of length, it will stop recording automatically. If the macro is less than 50 actions and 30s long, you can manually stop the recording with the next step.
- Press the FN button and Alt-Macro button once stop recording.
- The Scroll Lock LED starts to flash slowly again
- Trigger switches back to the Keyboard profile you had selected when you started recording OTF Macros.
- Hit one of the M1-M5 keys on the left of the keyboard to assign the recorded macro to any of the buttons of this Profile, and the Scroll Lock LED turns off.
- If you don’t assign the macro to any of the “Mx” buttons within 15 seconds, the macro will be deleted and the macro recording session ends automatically.
Note: the left Storm key can be disabled or programmed to act as a windows key, in this case you will have to use the right Storm key which is fixed to always act as Storm special function key.

Trigger uses a high quality USB cable with improved signal quality and power characteristics.
Some basic USB cables create too much signal noise or can’t carry enough power for Trigger to work.
They might work with the Backlight turned off and no added devices installed in the USB hub, but we highly recommend using the original high quality CM Storm Trigger USB cable.
Trigger features enough integrated memory to store 5 Profiles containing 15 Macros each.
Besides the 5 Macros you can assign to the dedicated M1-M5 buttons on the left side of the Keyboard, you can program 10 additional Macros to almost any key on the keyboard, for a total of 15 Macros for each Keyboard Profile. It doesnt matter whether you assign OTF (on the fly) recorded Macros, Macros recorded or created in the Trigger Aps Macro Studio.
If you have any further questions please dont hesistate to submit a support ticket and contact us.
Macros on Trigger can contain up to 50 actions each, and have a runtime of up to 30 seconds.
A maximum of 10 keys can be active at any given time while using the keyboard, which includes Macro execution. (6 standard keys, plus shift, plus alt, plus ctrl, windows)
If you need longer Macros than this, you can create multiple Macros and execute them in a row.

Trigger features integrated memory that lets you program and store 5 Keyboard Profiles complete with key-remappings, advanced functions and application launch shortcuts and 15 Macros for each Keyboard Profile. To switch between these keyboard Profiles, press and hold any of the two Storm buttons, and then press:
~ to switch to the default Profile
1 to switch to Profile1
2 to switch to Profile2
3 to switch to Profile3
4 to switch to Profile4
5 to switch to Profile5
Note: the left Storm key can be disabled or programmed to act as a windows key, in this case you will have to use the right Storm key which is fixed to always act as Storm special function key.
Note: As long as the Trigger App is active, the keyboard automatically switches to the default Keyboard Profile. This is done since programming keyboard profiles or macros could get confusing if you are actually using a custom keyboard profile where the keys have different functions or even macros assigned to them.
As soon as you close the Trigger AP or minimize it to the system Tray, you will be able to switch to your customized Keyboard profiles again.

The wording in the Trigger App seems to confuse a few people.
When you select a key, and then click on "Single Key" it asks you to ENTER the key whose function you would like to assign to the selected key.
Please CLICK on the desired key on the Trigger Keyboard Animation within the Trigger App, hitting keys on your actual physical keyboard does not work.
If you have any questions please dont hesitate to submit a support ticket and contact us.
When you select a keyboard key and click on "Advanced" a drop down menu appears.
The default selection is empty, so you will have to click on the drop down menu to select an advanced function from the list.

Please make sure you created custom Keyboard Profiles using the Trigger App.
If all profile slots are empty, you wont be able to record any OTF Macros, since there is no profile you could assign them to.
